We had a talk by Fiona Curran, an embroidery lecturer at MMU. As we are now all working towards our final visualisations and image/ video's it was really helpful to be able to see how she had put her ideas forward for commission. She showed us her initial thoughts, her final visualisations and then outcomes, so we could really understand the journey.

Here we can see the space in which she designed for and the final outcomes, she mentioned that she wasn't allowed to paint on the walls so she had to work out a way to attach her pieces to the wall so they could be removed and put back again.

This is probably what she had visioned for the hospital, however you always have to work with the client.
I took a lot from this talk, as I often see completed artworks but for us this journey of ideas is really helpful when displaying our work. Hope this is useful for others too.
Really enjoyed this lecture yesterday, it really helped me create my visualisations today :) And it makes you realise that no question is too small! Like how she just presumed she could paint on the walls, and she couldn't.
