In Circle of Confusion, the artist’s
native city Beirut is formed from 3000 post-it note sized pieces attached onto
a mirror. The repeated squares resemble tiles, with each one featuring a unique
image, such as part of the neighbourhood or coastline. It is a playground for
the audience to engage with since they are invited to actively remove and
rearrange the individual components. I like how the image constantly changes
and the mirror underneath is slowly uncovered, leaving reflective sections scattered
throughout the photograph. It is inspiring how realistic imagery can be adapted
into something more exciting, with the cities deterioration and distortion a prominent
aspect.
