Ruth Murray: Cornelia Parker

Inkblot Drawings

"Pornographic Drawing", 2005
Theses delicate, watery images occurred by chance, by dropping blots of ink onto paper and folding. The shapes are distinctly sexual in appearance, resembling genitalia, which is appropriate since the ink was made by dissolving pornographic video tapes in solvent, so that the prohibited imagery is represented as an abstract design. I thought this artist was relevant Danusha as her project involves developing unique inkblots to portray the concept of ‘iconic Manchester’.
